Born for prototyping
ideal also for production

The OMS-VA5-R machining center rewrites the traditional concept of dedicated eyewear machinery. In an industry lagging somewhat behind traditional multi-purpose machine tools, the OMS-VA5-R makes up for the disadvantage with a single move on a chessboard of flexibility, precision and economy, even on a large scale.
A prototype in 7 minutes, from computer to finished part.
1. Storage 130 positions
Random placement of the tablet in the magazine
OMS-VA5-R is equipped with standardized systems for stock positioning, workpiece loading, tablet or semi-finished product gripping, and handling of the same.
Panels can be of different sizes and thicknesses, and there is no need for a predetermined sequence or adjustment
Possibility of model change without impacting time/cost
The blank magazine (maximum footprint 210x80x165 mm) is a 130-position drawer system with RANDOM selection: the operator can select any of the 130 drawers. There is the possibility to manage the sequence of 'n' programs (with 'n' ranging from 1 to 130) to work from single model to 130 different models as well as all the intermediate cases ( Ex: MOD 1 position from 1 to 10, MOD 2 position from 11 to 20, MOD 10 position from 91 to 100).
2. Self-centering tablet
Standard bracketing for all models with self-centering fastening
On OMS-VA5-R the workpiece clamping system is standard for all models, no model-specific anchors are made as is necessary on other machines.
The automatic self-centering philosophy and clamping with fixed centerline pins (C-LOCK) makes it possible to totally eliminate operator intervention for the setting phase of all these parts.
3. One-size-fits-all bracketing
The mushroom season is over
We continue the concept of self-centering by highlighting the benefits that accrue to the finished product and the time and cost savings brought about by not working with expansion mushrooms.
4. 40 tool positions
Comprehensive tool magazine for every machining operation
The tool magazine has been appropriately sized; the 40 positions allow a wide range of tools to be set so as to cover virtually all types of face milling. The strategy is again geared toward minimizing operator intervention (setting is done only once when the tool is first mounted).
5. Operator's activities
Unmanned machine
Possibility of model testing even during the production of another
Even during a launched production, the operator can stop machining and enter a single task for, say, an urgent prototype, without the need for any adjustment. Once the prototype is finished, interrupted production can be resumed.
All this is possible thanks to C-LOCK technology.
Short learning time for the machine operator
Thanks to the prerogative of OMS-VA5-R, the machine can be treated as a peripheral that as input has the machining program and as output returns the semi-finished milled face plate.
The operator is not required to have any skills in terms of making the equipment and assembling it, as well as no knowledge of the mechanics of the machine and its parts. For the operator, OMS-VA5-R represents the equivalent of a distributor.
6. Accuracy and indeformability
7. Supersonic speed
C-LOCK system results in unprecedented work quality
One of the advantages of C-LOCK technology is definitely the precision with which the workpiece/clamp is clamped, consequently machining will also have greater precision. Another feature is related to the lower deformability of the semi-machined determined precisely by the precision and type of clamping that remain unchanged even over time. All this is amplified in the case of machining on prefinished pieces of minimum thickness.
High processing speeds at the highest quality
Precision and non-deformability mentioned on the previous page result in the possibility of very high-speed machining while maintaining very high quality. The clamping system makes it possible to increase cutting speeds.
9. C-LOCK vs. MUSHROOMS.
A new system that resets machine setup time and cost to zero
In the table below are some of the characteristics that identify the goodness of C-LOCK against traditional expansion mushrooms.
C_LOCK | MUSHROOMS | |
